Sissela Kyle, born March 17, 1957, is a prominent Swedish actress, comedian, and theatre director. Considered a cultural icon in Sweden, she has established a versatile career across stage, film, and television, balancing both comedic and serious roles.
Kyle's career began after graduating from the Theater School of Stockholm in 1981, studying alongside notable actors like Peter Stormare. She has performed extensively at various venues, including the Royal Dramatic Theatre and Stockholm City Theatre, where she later made her directorial debut.
Internationally, she is best known for her role in the popular 2003 comedy film Kopps and the historical drama series Miss Friman's War (2013-2017), which reached audiences in the UK as A Very Scandi Scandal. Kyle is also a frequent presenter on Swedish radio shows like Sommar i P1 and the host of the annual Guldbagge Awards, Sweden's main film gala.
