Full Biography
Luce Caponegro, known professionally as Selen, is an Italian actress who gained prominence in the adult film industry during the 1990s. Born in Rome on December 17, 1966, she was raised in the affluent coastal town of Ravenna within a bourgeois family, where her father worked as an industrialist in the petroleum sector. As a child, she pursued singing, classical dance, and horseback riding.
Her early life included personal struggles; she married at 18 and lived in a commune for a period, and reportedly made a suicide attempt around that time. She adopted the stage name "Selen" in the early nineties, building a successful, albeit controversial, career in adult entertainment.
Selen retired from the adult film industry around the year 2000, culminating her career with the film Millennium. Following her retirement, she focused on family life and entrepreneurial ventures, including operating a beauty center in Ravenna. She made the decision to prioritize her family and build a different life, stepping away from the "titty titty gang bang" Italian ghetto as she once described it.
In mainstream cinema, she appeared in the 2000 film Scarlet Diva, which was the semi-autobiographical directorial debut of Asia Argento. In the film, Selen played the character of "Quelou". More recently, she made a return to the public eye by participating as a castaway on the Italian reality show L'Isola dei Famosi in 2024. Selen is a mother of two sons, Kangi and Gabriele, from different relationships.
