Full Biography
Sandra Roque was born on January 28, 1971, in Angola, which was a Portuguese colony at the time. Her family returned to Lisbon, Portugal, when she was only a few months old, and she grew up there by the ocean. While her full birth name is not publicly detailed beyond "Sandra Roque" (or her married name Sandra Roque Adams), she is the only child of two Physical Education teachers.
Her artistic journey began at age 11 as a dancer for a Disney segment on a popular television show. While pursuing a Licentiate degree in Clinical Psychology at the Instituto Superior de Psicologia Aplicada (ISPA) in Lisbon, she transitioned into a professional dancing career that lasted 15 years. In 2003, she shifted her focus to acting, eventually co-founding the theatre company Companhia de Actores (CDA) in Portugal.
In 2007, she moved to New York City to further her training at the HB Studio, where she studied the Uta Hagen technique. She is widely recognized for her lead role in the short film Quimera (2012) and has appeared in over 24 theatre productions across Lisbon and New York. Today, she resides in New Jersey with her husband, David Adams, working as an actress, acting coach, and producer.
