Full Biography

Oona Chaplin is a Spanish-British actress born on June 4, 1986, in Madrid, Spain. She belongs to a prestigious cinematic lineage as the daughter of Anglo-American actress Geraldine Chaplin and Chilean cinematographer Patricio Castilla, and she is the granddaughter of the legendary silent film icon Charlie Chaplin. Growing up in a multicultural environment, she spent her childhood traveling between Spain, Switzerland, and Cuba, which allowed her to become fluent in Spanish, English, and French.

She formalised her passion for performing by moving to Scotland to attend Gordonstoun School and later graduated from the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London in 2007. Oona first gained international recognition for her role as Talisa Maegyr in the HBO hit series Game of Thrones. Her career has since spanned various genres, including notable performances in the BBC drama Taboo alongside Tom Hardy, the "White Christmas" episode of Black Mirror, and the legal thriller The Crimson Field. Looking ahead, she is set to reach even wider audiences with her upcoming role as Varang in James Cameron’s Avatar sequels.
