Story

Friday the 13th: A New Beginning follows Roy Burns, who begins a killing spree in Pinehurst after his son's accidental death at a mental institution. The film primarily focuses on Tommy Jarvis' recovery from his ordeal with Jason Voorhees and his return to his hometown of Crystal Lake, now renamed 'Pinehurst'. When a series of murders occur in the area, suspicion falls on Tommy due to his violent past. Meanwhile, a mentally unstable patient named Roy Burns escapes from the institution where Tommy was previously hospitalized and begins killing residents in Pinehurst while wearing Jason's hockey mask.

Summary

Directed by Danny Steinmann, Friday the 13th: A New Beginning is the fifth installment in the popular horror franchise. It marks a significant shift in focus away from the iconic antagonist Jason Voorhees, as Tommy Jarvis (John Shepard) takes center stage while struggling to cope with his past and clear his name amidst a new wave of killings plaguing Pinehurst.
