Story

The movie 'J'aimerais pas crever un dimanche' (1998) follows Ben, a morgue worker whose wife left him and who explores alternative sexualities. The film's central event occurs when Teresa, a woman brought to the morgue after an ecstasy overdose, comes back to life in Ben's arms. This resurrection serves as the catalyst for the story, which revolves around the interactions between Ben, Teresa, and other characters such as Boris (an orgy fan), Abdel (who has no emotional attachments), Ducon (who wants to kill himself), and Nico (who is dying of AIDS). The narrative explores their relationships and experiences against the backdrop of a social study of 1990s France with heavy references to sex and death.

Summary

Directed by Didier Le Pêcheur, 'J'aimerais pas crever un dimanche' is a dramatic exploration of 1990s French society. The film is notable for its candid portrayal of alternative lifestyles and the societal norms of the time. Centered around resurrection as a metaphor, it delves into themes of life, death, and the human connections that bind us. Although details about some characters' storylines are limited in available sources, the core narrative revolves around Ben's encounter with Teresa and their subsequent interactions within a diverse social circle.
