A three-time Oscar nominee, she received awards for acting in Terms of Endearment, for which she won the National Society of Film Critics Award for Best Actress in 1983, and in A Dangerous Woman, for which she won the Tokyo International Film Festival Award for Best Actress in 1993.

Story
Betty, a bank teller, develops a crush on her tennis instructor Mike. After they spend a night together, Mike avoids Betty despite promising to call her. Unbeknownst to Betty, Mike is secretly involved in drugs. Following a botched deal with another dealer, Mike decides to disappear for three months but eventually contacts Betty again.
