Story
Copenhagen, 2018. A frightening discovery is made in an old apartment. The subsequent investigation of Department Q leads them to an infamous institution for girls that was suddenly closed in the early sixties.
Summary
In Copenhagen, 2018, an unsettling discovery in an aged apartment prompts Department Q's investigation. Behind a false wall lie three mummified corpses seated around a dining table, one chair vacant. Detective Superintendent Carl Mørck and his assistant Assad take up the case, hunting for both identities and the intended occupant of the fourth seat. Their pursuit leads them to Sprogø Island's notorious institution for 'wayward' girls, shuttered in the sixties yet allegedly harboring secrets of extreme neglect and ongoing medical experiments in forced sterilization. As historical horrors resurface, Carl and Assad race against time to halt further murders before another victim claims the remaining chair.
