Story

A couple lives in seclusion in their meticulously restored mansion, surrounded by a lush forest. The husband, a once-famous poet, struggles with creative block. Their peaceful existence is disrupted when a stranger arrives at their doorstep one night. This uninvited guest brings his wife, and they refuse to leave despite the couple's discomfort. The guests' presence sparks chaos in the house, causing tension between the couple. As more strangers arrive, drawn by the poet's growing fame, the situation escalates into vandalism and violence. The wife becomes increasingly desperate to protect their home, but her efforts prove futile as the crowd grows more frenzied. The film reaches a chaotic climax that threatens both the couple's sanctuary and their lives.

Summary

Directed by Darren Aronofsky, 'Mother!' (2017) is an intense drama-horror film that explores themes of creativity, jealousy, and the destructive nature of human obsession. Set in an idyllic but isolated setting, the story unfolds as a couple's harmonious life together unravels due to the arrival of strangers who refuse to leave their home. The film is notable for its surreal and chaotic depiction of events, which mirror elements from the biblical story of creation and destruction.
