Story

The Affair follows Noah Solloway, a New York City schoolteacher and struggling novelist with a twenty-year marriage to Helen and four children. During a summer vacation in Montauk, Long Island, he begins an affair with Alison Lockhart, a young waitress trying to cope with the recent tragedy of losing her brother. The series explores their relationship from both perspectives, revealing distinct memories and experiences due to each character's unique biases.

Summary

The Affair is a complex exploration of infidelity and its emotional consequences, created by Sarah Treem. Focusing on Noah Solloway and Alison Lockhart, the drama unfolds separately through their eyes, using memory as an unreliable narrator to tell the story. Set against the backdrop of Montauk, Long Island, the series delves into themes of love, guilt, deception, and the subjective nature of truth.
