Story
In post-9/11 New York City, various individuals find themselves interconnected through their personal, romantic, and sexual lives at Shortbus, an underground Brooklyn salon known for its blend of art, music, politics, and carnality. The central character, Sophia (Sooki Jacob), is a couples counselor who has never experienced orgasm herself despite her happy marriage to Rob (PJ DeBoy). Among her patients are Jamie (Patience Hodgson) and James (Daniel London), a gay couple in a long-term monogamous relationship. James desires to open up their relationship, which leads them to meet Ceth (Paul Dawson), who might join their family. However, Caleb (Jay Brannan), a voyeuristic neighbor with his own sexual issues, becomes involved as well. Sophia seeks help from Severin (Ally Sheedy), a dominatrix with secrets of her own.
