Story
A bickering couple driving cross-country pick up a murderous hitchhiker who threatens to kill them unless they take him to a sanctuary. In return he agrees to split some bank loot he has on him.
Summary
A bickering couple, Walter Mancini and his wife Eve, driving across California to salvage their troubled marriage, pick up a stranded motorist named Adam. Unbeknownst to them, he's a fugitive bank robber wanted by both the police and his accomplices for absconding with $2 million in cash. Holding them hostage, Adam forces Walter and Eve to drive him to an unspecified sanctuary. In exchange for safe passage, he offers to split the stolen loot. The tension mounts as the couple navigates their crumbling marriage amidst the threat of Adam's violent nature and the tempting prospect of the ill-gotten gains he carries.
