She is of Aboriginal and Welsh descent, identifying as a Gumbaynggirr, Dunghutti, and Bundjalung woman. While she is professionally known as Sandy Greenwood, her background is deeply rooted in her heritage as the daughter of a Stolen Generation survivor.
Greenwood's academic foundation includes a First-Class Honours Degree in Theatre from the Queensland University of Technology (2002), and she further honed her craft at prestigious institutions such as the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Atlantic Theater Company in New York.
Her film career is highlighted by her role in the action thriller Killer Elite (2011), where she made history as the first Indigenous Australian actress to work alongside Robert De Niro. Story
In 'Killer Elite', Danny, a former member of Britain's Elite Special Air Service (SAS), has retired from his deadly profession.
