Full Biography

Born on July 12, 1993, in the south side of Glasgow, Scotland, Lauren Lyle is an acclaimed Scottish actress who rose to international prominence through her versatile performances in television and film.

Before pursuing acting, Lyle was a competitive gymnast and spent a portion of her teenage years living in Auckland, New Zealand, which she considers her "second home". Instead of attending a traditional drama school, she honed her craft through the prestigious National Youth Theatre’s repertory program in 2015, which led to her West End debut.

She is most widely recognized for her recurring role as the spirited Marsali MacKimmie Fraser in the hit historical drama Outlander. In 2022, she took on the lead role in the ITV crime thriller Karen Pirie, a performance that earned her the Best Actress award at the BAFTA Scotland Awards. Her career continues to flourish with her starring role as a troubled doctor in the 2025 psychological thriller The Ridge, a production filmed across both Scotland and New Zealand.
