Elena Martín Gimeno is a multifaceted Spanish artist, prominent as an actress, screenwriter, and director. Born in Barcelona in 1992, she has rapidly become a significant voice in contemporary Catalan cinema.
Martín is known for her intimate and thoughtful approach to filmmaking, often bridging the worlds of theatre and cinema. She achieved critical acclaim with her feature film directorial debut, Júlia Ist (2017), in which she also starred as the lead.

Her most notable work to date is the 2023 film Creatura. Martín not only directed and co-wrote the script but also took on the starring role of Mila. The film premiered to success at the Cannes Film Festival, winning the Europa Cinemas Label award. Creatura is celebrated for its brave exploration of female sexuality, societal taboos, and the impact of sexual repression.

Story
