She is most recognized for her role as Navy Lieutenant Catherine Rollins in the CBS crime-drama "Hawaii Five-0", where she appeared as both a main cast member and a recurring guest star. Borth also garnered attention for her performance in the short-lived but critically acclaimed HBO series "Tell Me You Love Me".

In film, her most notable recent appearance was as the adult superhero version of Mary Bromfield (Mary Marvel) in the 2019 DC Extended Universe film "Shazam!".
