Story

Over seven unraveling days, an unnamed village in an unspecified time and place faces its extinction as unseen forces threaten its very existence. Directed by Athina Rachel Tsangari, 'Harvest' unfolds with hallucinatory intensity, capturing the villagers' desperate struggle against impending doom. The film's cinematography, textured with russet reds and pollinic yellows, immerses viewers in a rural idyll that is slowly being consumed by an encroaching horror.

Summary

'Harvest', directed by Athina Rachel Tsangari in 2024, is a spellbinding allegory rooted in the historical context of landgrabbing during the Middle Ages. Set amidst the backdrop of xenophobia and scapegoating, this period drama explores the devastating consequences of unchecked power and greed on an unsuspecting community. Shot across Cyprus, France, Germany, Greece, the UK, and the US, 'Harvest' offers a profound commentary on societal issues that resonate across time.
